An actor who once had bit parts on TV will now spend decades behind bars, ABC 7 reports. Nick Pasqual was sentenced Tuesday in Los Angeles to 32 years to life in prison for the attempted murder of his former girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn, who was repeatedly stabbed at her Sunland home in May 2024 after ending their relationship. A jury last month convicted Pasqual of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with someone present, and inflicting injury on an intimate partner.
Shehorn, who had previously obtained a restraining order against Pasqual, addressed the court with visible scars on her arm and neck, recalling lying "in a pool of my own blood" and fearing she would die. The judge questioned Pasqual's apology, citing a recent phone call in which he allegedly mocked Shehorn, and noted her injuries were so severe she was "clinically dead twice." Prosecutors said Pasqual was arrested at a Texas border checkpoint after the attack. In a statement, the LA County district attorney called Shehorn's testimony "crucial" to securing the conviction and highlighted the case as an example of how domestic violence can escalate into near-fatal assaults. Pasqual later said he plans to focus on sobriety, accountability, and an appeal.
Pasqual, who has appeared in television shows including one episode of How I Met Your Mother, was arrested after a domestic assault against Shehorn earlier in May and was released on bail just five days before the stabbing attack, People reports. He broke into her home around 4:30am on May 23, 2024, Deadline reports. The Los Angeles Times previously reported that a friend later found Shehorn.
