UPDATE

Simone Biles has offered an update on her health, though she's still not revealing very many details. On Thursday, the 29-year-old gymnast posted a pic of herself and spouse Jonathan Owens in a hospital room, noting that she'd undergone an unspecified surgery, reports Chron. "His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure," Biles wrote in the post on her Instagram story (E! News has a photo of the now-vanished post). The update comes more than a month after a mystery malady put her in the hospital, which Biles hasn't expanded on much since. Not long after that initial post, Biles responded to fans' requests for answers with a "not ready to talk about it just yet."

Simone Biles says her week included something she says she didn't have on her "bingo card": nearly dying, NBC News reports. The 29-year-old gymnastics star revealed on Instagram on Saturday that she went through a serious, undisclosed medical emergency, sharing photos of hospital-style wristbands and calling it "one of, if not the scariest experience" of her life.
Biles didn't say what happened, promising, "I'll explain sooner or later." She thanked her inner circle for flowers, visits, and check-ins and said she's been resting in bed, posting a shot of her dogs curled up beside her and a heart-rate monitor screenshot. Her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens, was away at team activities at the time. The couple, who live in Texas, just last month celebrated six years together, three years married, Sports Illustrated reports. Representatives for Biles haven't publicly commented. As People reports, the gymnast had just posted a video of herself doing flips on her home trampoline just days before revealing the health scare.
