Fans of a certain furry extraterrestrial are saying goodbye to the matriarch of his TV family. Anne Schedeen, who played Kate Tanner opposite the wisecracking alien on NBC's ALF from 1986 to 1990, has died at 77, her family announced on Facebook. They said she "passed peacefully," and no cause of death was given, reports Deadline.

The native of Portland, Oregon, had a long career that included early theater work, a 1974 TV debut on the Six Million Dollar Man, and guest spots on series including the Bionic Woman; Three's Company; Cheers; Magnum, P.I.; and Murder, She Wrote, per USA Today. She also had roles in TV movies and films through the 1980s. Her family asked that donations go to Habitat for Humanity, and they invited mourners to "raise a margarita in her honor." Schedeen is survived by her husband of 55 years, Christopher Barrett, and their daughter.
