Paget Brewster is walking back a social-media blast aimed at a TV critic, saying she now "profoundly regrets" it, Deadline reports. In a Saturday post on X that Brewster later deleted, the Criminal Minds: Evolution star told ScreenRant writer Shealyn Scott "you suck" and suggested she find a new career after Scott's piece critiqued the show's 10-episode format. Brewster accused Scott of using "bad pics and bad reviews"—though the image in question was a studio-approved still. "You're young. You don't know that bad pics and bad reviews can lead to 350 people losing their jobs," Brewster wrote. "Sell vintage. Work at a shelter. Do something better than what you do now. Because right now you suck."
The backlash was swift, with users calling Brewster's response "insane" and "gross" given that the article largely argued for more episodes of the show. (The season length "is really [Scott's] only gripe," TMZ notes.) Variety rounds up more of the criticism here. On Sunday, Brewster deleted her original post and apologized on X, writing, "Shame on me for insulting a human being for doing their job." She also apologized to fans who read her original post: "Turns out, last night, I sucked." Brewster, who joined Criminal Minds in its second season in 2006 and now appears in its Paramount+ reboot, has not publicly commented further, and Scott has not issued a statement.
