US | Disneyland Teen Survives 50-Foot Disneyland Water Ride Plunge Teen avoids serious injury; ride shut briefly, but ultimately deemed operational By Evann Gastaldo withNewser.AI Posted Jun 24, 2026 1:30 AM CDT Updated Jun 28, 2026 7:20 AM CDT Copied FILE - In this file photo taken Wednesday, March 18, 2020, one of the normally bustling entrances to the Disneyland resort is vacant due to the coronavirus closure in Anaheim, Calif. (AP Photo/Chris Carlson, File) Visitors at Disneyland watched a harrowing scene this weekend. A 13-year-old boy apparently climbed out of a moving log on Tiana's Bayou Adventure on Sunday and went over the log ride's 50-foot drop, park officials said. Cellphone video obtained by TMZ and verified by NBC News shows him sliding down the waterfall-like chute just behind a log packed with riders. One witness told NBC his grandson watched the boy fall "like a rag doll." A park employee quickly halted the ride, and the boy was taken to a hospital as a precaution and later released. California safety regulators say they found no mechanical or operational problems with the attraction, which had resumed normal operations by Tuesday at the Anaheim park. Officials confirm the boy exited the log before falling, but it's not clear why, Fox LA reports. The ride, which was originally called Splash Mountain before being rethemed in 2024, does not have any passenger restraints, KTLA reports.
