Christian Pulisic's World Cup is over, and so is much of his summer: the USMNT star has been diagnosed with a bone bruise and microfracture in his leg after a collision in Monday's 4-1 loss to Belgium, the Athletic reports. The injury, to the tibia/fibula area, is expected to keep him out for weeks, but still putting him on track to return in August ahead of AC Milan's Serie A opener at Torino on Aug. 23.

Pulisic appeared to get injured in the 52nd minute when his shooting motion instead caught the back of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans' calf, twisting his ankle and knee and causing his left foot to roll. He tried to continue but was clearly limited, hobbling through a few more minutes before being subbed off in the 59th. He was later seen on crutches at the team hotel and, per the report, would not have been able to play even had the US advanced. It's his second injury of the tournament, notes the AP, after he missed one game and left two others early. He failed to score in this World Cup.
