Everyone's 'Favorite Viking' Has a Classic Parting Photo

Erling Haaland's World Cup run is over, but the Norway star returns home with unique bragging rights: He is, unquestionably, "everyone's favorite Viking," writes Claire Guinan at Jezebel. The 25-year-old starred on the field with seven goals, leading Norway to its best-ever showing. But he also charmed America and the world with his social media posts about his US adventures, which sent his Instagram soaring to more than 66 million followers. And he capped it all off with a fitting image.

When Haaland disembarked from his plane back home, he was photographed carrying a taxidermied raccoon, and that raccoon was clutching a bottle of booze. Both came from Wild Bill's Western Store in Dallas, notes the Athletic. You can watch Haaland's video blog about the visit here. For the record, the booze is Greenall's wild berry gin. On the X platform, Haaland bid farewell to America, adding, "It's been emotional!"
