Mom Fends Off Alleged Kidnapper With Gas Pump

A Georgia mom grabbed the closest thing at hand—her gas pump nozzle—when a stranger allegedly went after her child at a Marietta station just after midnight, police say. Surveillance video from a Shell station obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta shows a shirtless, barefoot man wandering up to the family's vehicle, peering inside, and appearing to notice a child. When the child jumps out and runs around the car, the man follows, then tries to open the back door where a second child is seated.

The mother uses the gas nozzle to fend off the man and give her child time to get back in the car. Two bystanders also entered the scene to help. The man fled but was soon found by Marietta and Cobb County officers, who say they recovered a THC vape from his vehicle. Police have identified him as 29-year-old Jerahn Tucker, and he's now in the Cobb County Jail on charges including attempted kidnapping. The manager at the gas station tells WSB-TV that the suspect had been kicked off the property multiple times before.
