Eminem is sharing a keepsake from Dolly Parton in the wake of her death, People reports. The rapper posted a note Parton sent him after they were both inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, saying the message "really had an impact on me," especially considering "she definitely didn't have to take the time to do it." He said he was sorry they never had a chance to meet.

In the letter, Parton congratulated the rapper on his induction and performance, calling him "the very best" at rap despite her limited familiarity with the genre. She wrote that she felt an "unexplained connection" to him, regretted not meeting him at the ceremony, and urged him to "keep doing what you're doing." Eminem, 53, noted that "Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words."
