US Deports Milo Yiannopoulos

British commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported, the Department of Homeland Security announced Saturday. The agency said in a statement that his authorization to be in the US had expired, the Guardian reports, and that he was flown to the UK on Friday after being detained in New Orleans. A spokesperson said an immigration judge had issued a final order of removal on July 22, per the AP, after Yiannopoulos didn't show up for an immigration hearing. He had entered the US legally in May 2019. Yiannopoulos has backed President Trump's immigration enforcement policies.

Records show that Yiannopoulos, a supporter of deportations, now faces a final order of removal himself, per CBS News. He has said he's in the US on an O-1 "extraordinary ability" visa. The Telegraph reports his immigration status drew scrutiny after the former ally began attacking President Trump—saying, for instance, that the president is "bought, paid for, owned and operated" by Israel.
