A Florida mother left her four young children, including a 2-month-old baby, home alone while she sailed on a three-day cruise to the Bahamas, police say. The infant's father called 911 Saturday after hearing children inside 29-year-old Nathalie Belizaire's North Miami Beach home, knowing that she was away, per NBC News. Officers forced entry and found all four children hiding in a bathroom, with no adult present. They are now in foster care.
Belizaire, who set sail Friday on the Carnival Conquest, was arrested Monday as she disembarked at PortMiami and charged with four counts of child neglect. She has denied the allegations. The children's great-grandmother told police that Belizaire had said she would drop the kids off with her, but she never did. Belizaire's brother said Belizaire texted him Saturday evening, asking him to check on the children. A judge expressed dismay at the allegations while setting bond at $10,000 and ordering Belizaire to stay away from the children. She left jail late Tuesday, per CBS News.
