Eric Deters, the Republican donor whose accusation that Kimberly Guilfoyle solicited $100,000 from him led to her resignation as US ambassador to Greece, has sued her and her lawyers for defamation and threatened revelations that he said "might bring down the entire Trump administration." The suit, filed in Kentucky state court, is in response to Guilfoyle and two of her attorneys challenging Deters' claim that she sought the money to cover her American Express bill in return for help with the Trump administration ahead of her Senate confirmation hearing, CBS News reports.

Deters contends Guilfoyle's legal team falsely told the Wall Street Journal that he owed her money and failed to meet his obligations, with the paper quoting an attorney as saying she was due payment for travel and support at "patriotic events." Guilfoyle has said Deters' allegations and texts are bogus. Of her pledge to fight the accusations, Deters said she can do that in Kentucky. Deters suggested, in a video posted Thursday to Facebook, that he's got more evidence to present. "By the end of tomorrow, I am going to play for you a phone recording that is the most explosive, most devastating information about Kimberly Guilfoyle to date," he said. Without hinting at the content, per Mediaite, Deters said the 16-minute tape could damage not only the Trump administration but possibly "end the JD Vance/Marco Rubio ticket."
