A Texas man is accused of threatening to bomb a Turning Point USA conference in downtown San Antonio and kill its CEO next week, KSAT reports. Police say 26-year-old Jacob Wenske was arrested early Thursday and charged with two felony counts of making a terroristic threat causing public fear. According to an arrest affidavit, Wenske allegedly replied to an April social media post promoting the conservative group's three-day Women's Leadership Summit by writing, "I know exactly where to bomb," and later adding, "I can't wait to be the valet for her escort." (Wenske previously worked as a valet, KENS 5 reports.)
Investigators say an email from an account registered to Wenske escalated the threats, declaring, "Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!!" and "Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event." He is also accused of contacting TPUSA directly and threatening Kirk. Kirk, who became CEO of the right-wing nonprofit after the fatal shooting of her husband, Charlie Kirk, at a Turning Point event in Utah last September, is scheduled to speak at the June 5-7 summit at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. Court records show Wenske's bond was set at a total of $120,000.
"The safety of our attendees, speakers, and staff is always our top priority. All TPUSA events include enhanced, multi-layered security measures enforced by both private security and local police," a rep for the organization says in a statement to Fox News.
