Taylor Swift is returning to her country roots with a song for Toy Story 5. The singer announced on Instagram Monday that she's written "I Knew It, I Knew You," an original song arriving on streaming platforms June 5, two weeks before the movie hits theaters, and tied to cowgirl Jessie's storyline, Deadline reports.

  • "I've always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I've adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie," Swift wrote. "I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?"

Swift co-wrote the track with frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. Director Andrew Stanton called the song "so deeply connected to Toy Story" that it felt like it had "always belonged there, like a long-lost family member.' "Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable," Stanton said. Fans had suspected a Toy Story tie-in after Pixar billboards with the initials TS appeared in Chicago, Los Angeles, London, and other major cities. A briefly visible countdown with a Toy Story-style cloud background on her website in April further fueled theories.

Toy Story 5, in theaters June 19, centers on a "toys vs. tech" clash after a tablet named Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee) draws Bonnie's attention from the toys that belonged to Andy in earlier Toy Story movies. In another musical link, Disney recently announced that Bad Bunny will have a voice cameo as Pizza With Sunglasses, People reports. Disney said the "effortlessly cool and mysterious" character is "a member of a small but mighty community of forgotten toys that live in an abandoned backyard shed."
