Charlie Sheen is heading back to sitcom land, and he's bringing his dad with him. AMC has ordered Happy Jack, a six-episode comedy series starring Charlie and Martin Sheen as a father-son duo, set to debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2027, with production starting in Los Angeles early that year, reports People. The show is "unsurprisingly kind of what you'd expect from a sitcom starring Martin and Charlie Sheen," notes the AV Club: Charlie plays Jack Chambers, a self-centered underachiever whose two daughters were largely raised—emotionally, at least—by Jack's father, played by Martin.
The plot kicks into gear when wild-child daughter Sam returns home with a boyfriend who turns out to be Jack's age, forcing Jack to decide whether to keep putting himself first or finally show up for his family, per People. The multicamera half-hour show—which Variety notes will film before a live audience in the same studio where Friends was shot—marks Charlie's first sitcom lead since Anger Management (he previously starred in Two and a Half Men), and Martin's first major TV role since Grace and Frankie. The Sheens have played father and son before on TV and in movies, including in Anger Management, Wall Street, and No Code of Conduct.
