An annual festival in Toledo turned into a mass-shooting scene Saturday with at least 12 injured victims, police say. The gunfire broke out around 5:30pm at the Old West End Festival and involved at least two shooters who were likely firing at each other, says Police Deputy Chief Joseph Heffernan, reports NBC News. Two victims were in critical condition as of Saturday night. The wounded range in age from 14 to 61, with most in their early 20s. The suspects remained at large.
Hundreds had gathered for the long-running neighborhood event, which features live music and home tours, per the AP. Kevin Berry recalls sitting in the neighborhood arboretum listening to live music when the gunfire and resulting chaos began. "Everybody hit the deck," he says. Sunday's remaining festival events have been canceled.
