The International Criminal Court's top prosecutor was suspended Monday after an 18-month investigation into allegations of sexual harassment. The court's governing body said member states will meet to decide whether Karim Khan keeps his job after reviewing the findings, Reuters reports. Khan is accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a female aide. The British lawyer, who temporarily stepped down last year during the investigation, has denied the allegations, per the AP.

Khan and his legal team have said the allegations are part of a coordinated smear campaign by outside forces to disrupt his investigations into Israel, per i24News. He sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, as well as Hamas leaders, on war crimes charges. The UN investigation found evidence of "nonconsensual sexual conduct" with the aide, per the AP, but a three-judge panel enlisted to review it found the evidence wasn't conclusive.
