A Pennsylvania Dollar Tree is at the center of a disturbing case involving an alleged would-be robber who's just 10 years old. Police in Swatara Township, outside Harrisburg, say the boy walked into the Paxton Street store Monday evening with a fixed-blade knife, threatened a female employee, and demanded cash, People reports. Coworkers intervened and managed to restrain the child until officers arrived, but police say one employee was stabbed multiple times during the struggle and needed medical treatment
Authorities have not released that worker's name or detailed the injuries. The boy, who was being held when officers arrived at the scene, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possessing an instrument of crime, WGAL reports. He's now in a secure juvenile detention facility awaiting court proceedings.
