Charlie Sheen just closed the book on a long-running child support fight with ex-wife Brooke Mueller, for a fraction of what she said he owed. Court documents show that a Los Angeles judge approved a deal requiring the 60-year-old actor to pay Mueller $500,000 in past-due child support, with half due immediately and the balance by Sept. 1, reports USA Today. The agreement settles claims over unpaid support and interest going back to 2011. Mueller had previously alleged Sheen was on the hook for nearly $9 million in missed payments, plus more than $6 million in interest.

The pair, who share 17-year-old twins Bob and Max, will now each cover the boys' expenses while the teens are in their respective care. Sheen must also pay $60,000 toward Mueller's legal fees by mid-October. Despite the custody-tied tensions, Mueller last year had mostly good things to say about Sheen in a Netflix docuseries, per Us Weekly. "Charlie really stepped up when my stuff was going dark. And it was really dark," she said. Sheen has three other children who are now adults—two daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards, and another daughter with former girlfriend Paula Speert, per People.
