Roxette Calls Off 40th Anniversary Tour Dates

Fans hoping to celebrate Roxette's 40th anniversary stateside will have to keep waiting, reports Deadline. Per Gessle announced on Instagram that Live Nation has postponed the Swedish pop duo's planned North American tour, citing "logistics and hugely increased touring costs." Gessle now performs Roxette's hits with singer Lena Philipsson, after Marie Fredriksson's death from cancer in 2019. Gessle said the duo is disappointed, noting the US "is by far our biggest streaming market." The scrapped dates come just as "It Must Have Been Love" passed 1 billion views on YouTube, notes Billboard, underscoring the group's enduring pull more than three decades after its radio heyday. The duo had been slated to tour with fellow '80s favorites Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe, notes Variety.
