A stabbing in a Virginia middle-school classroom ended with students pulling the suspected attacker to the ground, authorities say. A 12-year-old boy at Jonesville Middle School allegedly used a kitchen knife taken from the school to stab a teacher on Wednesday, according to Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons. Several 7th-graders intervened, reports ABC News, tackling and restraining him until adults arrived. The teacher was hospitalized with injuries that required stitches but is expected to recover. Parsons said the students "probably saved lives, certainly saved the teacher's life." The boy is now in custody and is being charged as a juvenile with aggravated malicious wounding and assault and battery, notes WCYB. No other students or staff were hurt.
