A lightning strike in Broward County, Florida, killed a 31-year-old mother and her 2-year-old daughter on Sunday afternoon, authorities say. Margate police say a 911 call came in around 2:30pm reporting that two people had been hit by lightning and were found on a sidewalk, WFLA reports. Officers and fire rescue crews administered aid, and the woman, identified as Kenya Glasgow, was taken to Broward Medical Center in Deerfield Beach. Her daughter, Kennedi, was transported to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Both were pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Neighbors say they thought it was an ordinary rainstorm before the lightning strike made their homes shake.
Kameron Glasgow says he was standing just feet away from his wife and child when they were hit, NBC Miami reports. He says they had just arrived at his aunt's house for dinner and they tried to rush inside as the weather worsened. He says Kennedi has a twin sister, Kensli. "I'll be OK because I have to be, because I have another beautiful daughter that's inside there," he says. "But for her to lose her twin sister, words can't describe that feeling because I know she can't even fathom it right now. That she lost her best friend."

I'm hurt we are hurt but if you gotten the chance to feel that beautiful light my wife and daughter brought into your life cherish it. It's there for a reason. It gives us all the blueprint to just love others and always remember it doesn't take much to be kind."
