A photo op with an Encanto character ended with handcuffs and a lifetime ban from Florida's Walt Disney World for one man. Citing TheTravel, Fox News reports that Diego Rodriguez was arrested on April 21 on a battery charge after an incident at Epcot in which he allegedly grabbed and shook an employee while trying to get a picture with a performer dressed as Mirabel. Rodriguez allegedly tried to cut the line more than once, grew agitated when told no, and shouted, "Why [can everyone] take a picture but us?" This happened after a child with him tried to run ahead to the character, and after a woman in his group was told by an attendant that Mirabel was only doing photos, not autographs. "The woman then waved the book in the employee's face," per Fox.

That's when Rodriguez is accused of grabbing the staffer's arm and verbally berating both the attendant and the employee dressed as Mirabel. Rodriguez was taken into custody by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and issued a lifetime trespass notice, permanently barring him from Disney World property. The move reflects Disney's updated "Guest Courtesy" rules, which emphasize zero tolerance for physical or verbal abuse of its workers. As of March, visitors are now automatically booted from the park if they hit or pull a staff member on purpose; bans may also follow, per Inside the Magic. The New York Post details other disruptive incidents over the last few years at Disney, including over people cutting the line. Disney and the sheriff's office didn't immediately comment.
