Per People, the singer's publicist says a person in the crowd aimed tear gas toward the stage, leading to an "abrupt interruption" of the show as fans moved away and received help. E! News notes that Martin, 54, and his team were "briefly ushered away" from the stage as well, as security and local authorities responded and worked to secure the venue.

Though advised by members of his own entourage not to continue performing, the Puerto Rican star chose to resume his performance "to fulfill his commitment to his fans," per his rep, though only after officials said the situation was under control and the audience could safely return. Martin's publicist says the singer and his crew are "safe and grateful" for the concern from fans, and that his Ricky Martin Live Tour will continue as planned across Europe and beyond.
