Luke Wilson just quietly hit a major life milestone: He's now a dad. The 54-year-old Legally Blonde actor and his girlfriend, Kendall Yates, 24, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl, People reports. The couple brought their newborn to a Tuesday press reception for Wilson's new Netflix comedy series at The Resort at Pelican Hill outside of Newport Beach, California, where they introduced her to guests and castmates, including Jimmy Tatro. Us Weekly notes that the pair never publicly announced Yates' pregnancy nor the baby's birth.
Wilson and Yates have also kept their yearslong relationship low-key, though they've been seen together around Los Angeles. Page Six reports they've been dating since at least 2023. Wilson, who said in 2007 that he wanted children and later joked about feeling a midlife "panic" as he neared 50, is the last of the Wilson brothers to become a parent, per People: Siblings Owen and Andrew Wilson each have children. "I mean, Anthony Quinn, he had a child when he was 80," Luke Wilson joked in a 2020 interview cited by Us. "I just don't want to be one of those dads that has to pay somebody in the neighborhood to throw the football with his kid because I can't." (Luke Wilson made headlines for another, weirder reason this week.)
