Reality-TV drama intersected with real-life emergency services in Southern California this week. Jennifer Pedranti of the Real Housewives of Orange County says one of her sons was among several youths involved in sparking a brush fire that burned roughly seven acres near Ladera Ranch on Tuesday. In an Instagram Story, Pedranti wrote that she and ex-husband William Pedranti "take this very serious," calling the behavior "unacceptable" and apologizing to their community, People reports.
Authorities say the blaze, which began near Narrow Canyon Road and Acaster Way around 4:45pm, was contained before it reached nearby homes; no injuries or property damage were reported. The Orange County Fire Authority interviewed multiple minors at the scene and says the cause remains under investigation, with no arrests made. "The fire and police were absolutely amazing and gave these boys a lesson they will never forget," Pedranti said.
Pedranti, shares daughter Everleigh,15, and sons Harrison, 22, Dawson, 19, Greyson, 17, and Dominic, 12, with her ex and is engaged to Ryan Boyajian. She didn't say which son was involved. She said he will complete a fire safety course to "make sure a mistake like this never happens again, adding, "There are consequences within our family and we will make sure our son learns from this accident." In the show's Season 20 premiere on Thursday, she said Harrison is working for an engineering firm in Singapore and Dawson is serving in the Marines. She said she was shocked when Greyson got a speeding ticket recently. "Wait until your kids get older and everything gets harder," she said, per Bravo.
