Taylor Swift's Talk Show Appearance Turned Into a Video

Taylor Swift apparently had one condition when she agreed to a late booking on the Graham Norton Show: nobody loses their seat to give her one. Norton told British GQ that when producers considered dropping a guest to make room for Swift on an October episode, "word came back from Taylor: No one must be bumped." So, as E! Online reports, Greta Lee, Lewis Capaldi, Cillian Murphy, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Domhnall Gleeson, all stayed on the couch.

That decision turned into unexpected work—of the fun kind. During the taping, Gleeson joked about wanting to be in one of Swift's videos. She later wrote on Instagram that the "Opalite" video concept "crash landed" into her mind in that moment (catch a bit of the interview and the result here), and a week later Gleeson had a script with a starring role. Swift then invited every guest from the episode, plus Norton, to appear, likening it to a voluntary "school group project" set in the '90s. "Everyone from the show made the effort," she said, adding that she "had more fun than I ever imagined." Norton dishes on the behind-the-scenes of the shoot to GQ here.
