Philly Police Hunt Man in Mask Threatening People

A string of predawn confrontations in downtown Philadelphia has police searching for a young man wearing a Halloween mask and threatening people, reports NBC Philadelphia. Police say the person appears to be filming the encounters with his phone while wearing something like a Chucky doll mask. In one Center City Philadelphia incident last week, police say the man chased a female jogger about 5:30am while holding a phone toward her and asking, "Are you ready to die?" The woman ran, screaming for help, and the man eventually broke off and headed into the city's underground rail station, per ABC6.

Police estimate the male is 16 to 20 years old and say he at one point suggested he had a weapon, though none was seen. He faces potential charges including terroristic threats, harassment, simple assault, and intimidation. Earlier this month in St. Louis, a teen wearing a clown costume was accused of fatally stabbing an elderly man.
