Lindsay Clancy 'Scared' as Jury Deliberates

Jurors in Massachusetts are weighing whether Lindsay Clancy was legally sane when prosecutors say she strangled her three children last year, and her lawyer says she's "scared" as they deliberate, People reports. The 34-year-old, paralyzed from the waist down after an apparent suicide attempt following the killings, faces charges in the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan at the family's Duxbury home in January 2023.

Prosecutors argue Clancy knew right from wrong and killed the children to end her own suffering. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington says she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and blamed "the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got" for her mental collapse. More than 80 witnesses testified, including medical experts and Clancy's ex-husband, Patrick, who has remarried and publicly forgiven her. Deliberations continue Friday. "She's doing alright. She's nervous, she's scared," Reddington told reporters as he left court Thursday, per the New York Post. He said he felt optimistic the decision would be in the defense's favor, TMZ reports.
