Reviews of the tour were strong, fans flew in from around the world, and as she ascended into the rafters for the finale, many wondered when she'll next return to the stage. While that's not yet clear, her most recent album Petal is nominated in several categories at this month's MTV Video Music Awards.
Meanwhile, Grande's Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey also pulled out of Sunday in the Park with George on Tuesday, Us Weekly reports. He had been set to star opposite Grande. "Ari is one of my dearest friends, and my support for her is unwavering. [Director] Marianne [Elliott] is extraordinary and one of my longest collaborators and friends," he wrote in a statement. "After much consideration, I have decided to also step back from Sunday in the Park with George."
