A 911 call involving a dumbbell that fell on a nine-year-old's head led to child neglect charges for a Florida mother. Osceola County deputies say they arrived at a Kissimmee home around 8:30pm last Wednesday in response to the call to find four kids—ages 14, 12, 11, and 9—home alone, reports WESH. Deputies say they were able to reach the children's mother, 50-year-old Irene Miller, who told them she was in Las Vegas for work and not due back until Friday.

Investigators say she left on Oct. 18 and arranged for a babysitter from Tampa to check on them before and after school, but not to stay overnight, reports CBS Miami. Detectives met Miller at Orlando International Airport last Friday and arrested her as she got off the plane. She faces four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm. The boy who was injured by the dumbbell was seen at a hospital then released, and the children went to stay at their father's home. "Charges will be brought against the parents who are not properly supervising or caring for their children," said Sheriff Chris Blackmon in a Facebook post that shared bodycam video of Miller's arrest.
