Tucker Carlson says he's done calling himself a Republican, and he's betting he's not alone. On the Can't Be Censored podcast, the conservative commentator declared he's "out" when it comes to the GOP, saying the party has "betrayed" voters by putting Israel's security ahead of US interests, reports Axios. "And if I'm out, then I think a lot of other people are out," Carlson noted. "How could I or any American voter support a political party that's not loyal to the United States?" He added that there's "no chance" he'll back Republicans going forward.
Carlson, who says he has defended the party for 35 years, also ruled out supporting Democrats and conceded that he's unsure how he'll vote next. "I don't know what I'm gonna do," he admitted, per the AP. His break highlights growing tension within the broader MAGA orbit, as some conservatives criticize President Trump's handling of the economy and the US role in the war with Iran, per Axios. Carlson is among those who argue Washington entered the conflict at the behest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a claim that Sen. Marco Rubio has partially echoed.
