Allison Janney used her Emmy spotlight to talk less about herself and more about a missing Arizona woman. After tying the record with her eighth Emmy on Monday, the 66-year-old actor told reporters she thinks "every day" about Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, who vanished from her home near Tucson on Feb. 1 at age 84. Guthrie said on Today on Tuesday that she was "so touched" that Janney dedicated part of her big moment to her family, calling it a fresh chance to plead for help. Janney said she believes "all of America" has been thinking about Nancy Guthrie.
"I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom and how much we miss her and love her," Savannah said. "And my whole family, my sister and my brother and I, and all of our extended families, are in such pain. We need help, so thank you, Allison Janney, for remembering us and for giving an opportunity to renew that call." Guthrie said she and her siblings simply want to bring their mother home and "give her a proper goodbye." Today co-host Willie Geist shared the FBI tipline as Guthrie spoke, notes Page Six. No major leads have emerged in the case.
