Lawyers handling Sean Combs' civil cases say that they're finished with him—and that the issue is money. In a filing Monday in Manhattan federal court, NBC News reports, Michael Tremonte of Sher Tremonte LLP asked to withdraw from representing Combs in several cases, including a $100 million defamation suit. He cited more than six months of unpaid bills and what he called a "total breakdown" in communication.

Combs, 56, counters that he fired the firm, accusing it via spokesperson Juda Engelmayer of inflating and running up unapproved charges. Tremonte denies that, saying the invoices are overdue and any claim of overbilling is false. The rapper is serving a 50-month federal sentence in New Jersey on interstate prostitution convictions and is eligible for release as early as 2028. The Manhattan firm had represented Combs since 2024, per Billboard.
