The holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case says he never wavered—and is now in hiding amid the fallout. "I didn't have any doubts," Michael Desronvil says in a statement obtained by CBS News. "Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned." The judge in the Massachusetts trial revolving around the murder of Clancy's three young children declared a mistrial earlier this month with the jury deadlocked 11-1. All the jurors except Desronvil, 48, voted to find Clancy not criminally responsible by reason of mental illness.
Desronvil's lawyer says his client is "safe and sound" at an undisclosed rural location after intense online criticism. "Rest assured that the evil people who have so viciously attacked this American Hero and Champion of Justice will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law and beyond," his attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, said in a post on X. The New York Post describes Desronvil as "a father from a Haitian immigrant family and a devout Christian with a history of abuse allegations." He came to the US as a young child. Prosecutors, meanwhile, have not yet said if they will retry Clancy, with a hearing set for Sept. 29 in Plymouth Superior Court. The new wife of Clancy's ex-husband also broke her silence.
