A busted suitcase allegedly blew up one traveler's plans in Dallas. Police say an airline worker at Dallas Love Field called officers Thursday after a suitcase split open on an arriving flight from Las Vegas and exposed what looked like a hefty stash of marijuana. Narcotics detectives met the plane and say they soon found two more bags packed with vacuum-sealed bundles of the drug, Fox 26 reports. In all, authorities report seizing about 75 pounds of marijuana.
The passenger identified as the owner of the luggage, 25-year-old Jennifer Manzanares-Herrera, was arrested before she could leave the airport. She's been charged with possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds, a second-degree felony under Texas law. In a Facebook post, the Dallas Police Department said its Narcotics Unit maintains a presence at Dallas Love Field, a domestic-only airport, to "detect and intervene when illegal drugs are moving through the airport."
